2018 ISSP Workshop to Apply
 
International Society of Sport Psychology (ISSP) is pleased to announce its inaugural Continued Education Certificate Program (CECP) to be held during the ASPASP international conference. 
Workshop 1:  Cultural Competence in High Performance Sport Psychology

  This workshop will focus on the importance of understanding sociocultural diversity in High Performance sport settings, and will explore the cultural knowledge, skills and competencies required for efficient delivery of sport psychology services. Case studies and real world scenarios will be discussed that consider the aspects necessary for working with athletes and teams in transnational multicultural organizations as well providing psychological support in cross border mobility to major games (e.g., Olympics). The key aim of this workshop is to facilitate the reflection-in-action process of acquiring cultural competencies through indigenous practices and research based knowledge.
This workshop will be delivered by a team of scientists and practitioners who have extensive experience of working in multicultural high performance settings.
 
Workshop 2:  Professional Conduct in High Performance Sport Psychology

This workshop will focus on the importance of professional conduct in High Performance sport settings, and will explore the ethical and professional skills and experiences of consultants operating in this domain. Case studies and real world scenarios will be discussed that consider the characteristics required for working in organisations, both in the context of senior athletes and teams as well junior athletes and their families. Additionally, the conduct of the psychologist at a major games (eg Olympics) will be examined with a focus on the key issues that underpin performance and health and well-being of both clients and the consultant. 
 
This workshop will be delivered by scientist-practitioners who have extensive experience of working in high performance settings at junior and senior level.

- Cost: $70(workshop 1+ workshop2)
- Payment for workshop should be made in the venue (only US dollar)
- There are total 16 continued education credit hours (of which 12 include pre- and post-CEW home assignments) that will be earned during the CECP.
